“I’ve been using the standard horse guard, with success, my question is there any other trace minerals that I need to give my horse other than salt?”

Answer by Ph.D. Equine Nutritionist, Kelsey Johnson Nonella:

Great to hear your horse is doing well on Horse Guard. Giving your horse access to a plain white salt block and feeding him Horse Guard with a good quality hay (and a concentrate if you choose) will take care of all your horse’s needs. No need to supplement your horse with any other trace minerals.
